4pm Update

With the rain that came through earlier, some of the instability in the atmosphere was washed out, so this is now our wind threat (above). The chance of tornadoes is now 2%, with wind and hail at 15%.

If we get enough sun, we may get a few severe storms, but the storms tonight and tomorrow seem to be just a heavy rain/lightning producer...

if any severe storms fire...i will update the blog...

Severe Monday

Potential for wind and hail : 15%

Potential for tornadoes: 5%

Any severe weather will be after 4pm in southern Indiana. I will update the blog at 4:30pm.

Memorial Day Forecast

Right now it looks like Memorial day could be a nasty weather day in our area.

Showers are possible in the morning over southern Indiana, but the last 2 days, by the time showers got into Illinois, they fell apart. They may get to the area tomorrow morning, especially to the west of Louisville.

Let me quickly explain this situation:

All the tornadoes occurring out to the west have been occurring because it is hot, humid, and to some extent sunny, destabilizing the atmosphere. The weather north and west of them was also dreadfully cold.
In a normal situation, because of morning clouds, we would stay in the upper 70's. However, a warm front will come through, taking us to at least 85, with humid conditions as well. Though we may not get as much sun as those to the west did, we should still have an unstable, moist atmosphere. This could lead to some severe weather.
Here is the chance's of us seeing severe weather tomorrow...
These numbers will change depending on the amount of heat, humidity, and sun we see tomorrow...
