The Rise and Fall

Sadly, the Cardinals lost to the Kentuck Wildcats by a final score of 40-34. It was a very good game, and unfortunately, the Cards lost. Congrats to Kentucky for playing a good game, winnning, getting into the top 25 and all that nonsense!

The forecast is a good one:

The Game is Today!

Even though the title of this post is "The Game is Today", I want to start on a weatherly note! By the way, you can vote on who will win the big game today on the top of the blog!

Anyway, I received a few questions through my comments! Here are the questions that I'm about to answer:

1. How will the drought we have been experiencing affect the color of the trees this fall?

The leaves would be doing good to look like this, but unfortunately it will most likely not be the case.

A drought almost always causes the leaves to fall early, and that's because the leaves are killed by the constant heat of the sun! They will fall to the ground brown and dead! However, now that the heat is gone, we will see some darker leaf colors this year.

2. When might we expect some good soaking rain?

t's not looking like a flooding rain like this, or a soaking rain! The next week will be dry, but some potential for rain is possible the week of the 23rd.

3. Finally, in your (my) opinion what kind of winter are we in for? Mild? Intense?

Here's an intense winter for you!

This is the folklore saying: Hot summer, cold winter!

This is mine: After this hot summer where we broke all kinds of records, we will most likely get a huge cold front before we could settle into a cold winter, but I would have to say: An average winter!

The Game Draweth Nigh

The HUGE game between my Louisville Cardinals and my dad's Kentucky Wildcats is tomorrow at 7:30pm. The weather will be perfect for the game, and the Cardinal's should turn the slightly cold temperatures warmer with their high-powered offense.

Anyway, the forecast goes like this:

Tonight, becoming clear with a low of 49.

Saturday, beautiful with a high of 67.

Saturday night, clear with a low of 47.

Sunday, sunny and 75!

Sunday night, mostly clear with a low of 52.

Monday, mostly sunny and a high of 80.

Monday night, mostly clear with a low of 58.

Tuesday-Thursday night, mostly sunny with highs in the middle 80's and lows near 60.

That is a beautiful forecast compared to the heat we've been suffering! However, it includes no rain! this is a bad thing, as indicated by the Drought Monitor. In Case u can't see, Indiana is in a moderate to extreme drought. Kentucky's situation is worse, bringing extreme to exceptional drought possible. It's bad!

This is going to be crazy in seeing how long this goes!

Note the dirty south! Tennessee, Alabama, and Northern Georgia are in a huge area of Exceptional drought, which is the worst possible!

Indiana is in a crazy situation as well. The northern half of the state has no drought at all, the central part of the state is in a minor drought! Then, southern indiana is in a bind, with a severe to extreme drought.

Kentucky's situation as you can see, is worse! Only a small part of the state, the north-central part, is in a severe drought!

Extreme drought is present over the rest of Kentucky! Look at the black area at the southeast part of Kentucky! That is a bad, bad, drought! Exceptional, in fact! There is probably no grass in that part of Kentucky!

This is tropical storm Ingrid (what kind of name is that). It should not threaten land!

The game is tomorrow!
