Forecast for the 4th

Look's like we may have a damper on Independence Day...

Wednesday will be near 90, sunny, and low humidities. However, this will all change by Thursday as a front comes into the area, weakens, and stalls along the Ohio River...giving us a chance of rain until Sunday.

So, here is the forecast:

Tonight-Wednesday: No hazards
Thursday-Sunday: Continuous chances of heavy rain (see map & discussion below)
Monday-Tuesday: Isolated Storms

Now talking about Thursday-Sunday:

I have a CODE ORANGE for this period for the potential heavy rain during this period. IF the front sets up along the Ohio River, then training of storms is likely to occur.

Though it is too far out to predict an accurate totals, this map gives an idea of what could happen. I think 2-3 inches are likely over this period, and if training occurs, maybe an isolated 4 inch total.

Note: Most meteorologists are tending to get this system out of here by the end of Saturday, but these systems tend to stay a little longer than first thought. This is why I'm saying the potential is through Sunday and higher rain amounts than most. Of course, all of this is subject to change.

No severe weather is likely with this system.
