Will ice impact your Christmas plans?
The simple answer is...not for long. There will be a brief period of ice tomorrow, but any accumulation will be quite minor...more of a nuisance. Most of the precip will be rain, beginning tomorrow night and into Christmas Eve. However, with all of the cold air in place now, we will see some icy precip tomorrow, but it should not last long with warm air rushing in from the south. A track slightly more to the east will bring more significant ice, so this forecast is not a guarantee. However, I expect any ice accumulations to be minor.
It will be quite windy on Tuesday night into Christmas Eve, with some gusts to 45mph. Rain and warmer temps will return Friday and Saturday.
