This is a picture of a tornado from the infamous April 3, 1974 outbreak. The NWS found this in 2007 and did not know where it was from. They posted it online and a man from Denmark identified it! This a picture from Kennland, IN, a town 35 miles east of Indianapolis. For the complete story, click HERE...

Our weather will look nothing like that anytime soon, for we will settle into a nice fall like pattern. The next 7 days should be dry. Friday and Saturday will have highs from 60 to the lower 60s. Expect some brief increasing clouds and possibly a sprinkle tomorrow night, but no steady rain is likely. Sunday-Monday will have temps in the 65-70 degree range. A dry cool front will move through Tuesday, which will force our highs Tuesday-Thursday to remain in the lower 60s.

There is a possibility that Sunday morning may hold our first frost for the area. Lows could dip as low as the upper 30s, with mid 30s in outlying areas. This will not be a freeze, but some plants may need to be brought inside because of it...

A quick drought update reveals that southern Indiana is in an abnormally dry period (D0), northern Kentucky as far south as Bardstown in a moderate drought (D1), central Kentucky to as far south as Somerset in a severe drought (D2), and southeast Kentucky in an extreme drought (D3).
