You all should know the story by now...

We will have an active week of weather next week followed by the coldest weather in quite a while. The clipper system Monday night-Tuesday morning could bring light accumulations, but not too much in the way of accumulations.

Wednesday's storm seems more promising. This storm will be much stronger than the one on Monday. There are pros and cons to weather this system will bring us substancial snow. A pro is that the air will be so cold with this system that we could receive light fluffy snow that accumulates quickly. A few cons include the lack of moisture that will be present in the area, as well as the track.

I will predict my first snow amounts for these two systems tomorrow night. Here are a few predictions from others...

John Belski (WAVE-3): Around 1" Monday night; 1-3" or 2-4" on Wednesday night.

Marcus Barnes (markstenday.com): 1-2" Monday night, 7-8" Wednesday night-Thursday morning.

After this storm, cold air will usher into the area, bringing with it the coldest temperatures of the season. With snow cover, we will see colder readings than forecasted. Take a look at what these 2 meteorologist above have to say about the severity of the cold air.

John Belski: Lows around 0 on Friday and Saturday morning; highs in the mid-upper 10's.

Marcus Barnes: Lows Friday around -5 and lows Saturday of -12. Highs Friday in the lower 10's and highs Saturday in the upper 0's.

The reason these two forecasts are so different is because of their respective predictions of snow cover...

One last note...congrats to the #21 Louisville Cardinals basketball team, who won a game today at #17 Villanova 61-60. They kept me, as well as all other Cardinal fans, on the edge of our seats to the very end. The Cards are now 11-3 and 2-0 in Big East play. The Cards play at home next week against #13 Notre Dame (Monday 7pm, ESPN) and #1 Pittsburgh (Saturday 6pm, ESPN).
