Hurricane Ike is about to hit Galveston and Houston, Texas, as a Category 2/3, with 110mph winds. Galveston has a 17 foot storm wall, and storm surges are expected to be up to 20 feet, with isolated places of 25 feet. Stay tuned to the NHC and The Weather Channel for more...

There is the potential of an isolated tornado over the next couple hours...this should not be a big deal , but it is still something to talk about.

Tomorrow will have some isolated showers/storms tomorrow, but it will be very hot and humid with highs between 85-90 degrees with dewpoints in the 70s.

Sunday and Monday will bring 1-3 inches of rain to the area. It will be very breezy on Sunday, with a 5% chance of isolated tornadoes with Ike. Otherwise, there will be lots of rain over this period...
  • Tuesday-Friday will have much less humid weather, with temps in the middle 70s to 80.
  • The Ryder Cup begins next Friday, with beautiful weather continuing...
